your jewellery collection
The joy of jewellery
Whether you have collected jewellery all your life, or during those years abroad, or inherited pieces from your family, one thing is certain: you love these pieces. They bring back memories, hold family history or simply make you smile. But what to do with them in the long run? Where should they go when you are no longer there? Who will take care of them? We can’t predict the future, but what we can do, is make sure your collection is fully prepared for the next chapter in its life.
That is where I come in: I help you organize it all, find suitable destinations and above all discover and share its stories – and yours.

‘Shoebox to System’-service
Did you know not every museum or institution immediately accepts donations of private collections? Increasingly, they are looking for at least a basic registration and a clear provenance. It’s always a good idea to organize your collection at a basic level – read 5 reasons why that matters here. That may seem like a daunting task, but all it takes is a solid system. My personal ‘Shoebox-to-System‘-service will get you organized – and happy!
In this 1:1 service, I will help you set up a system based on my experience with museum standards. The end result is a clear, complete and practical digital inventory of your collection. The ‘Shoebox-to-System‘-service is completely scaleable: whether you need a hand in setting it up or a complete inventory and description of your collection, I’m here for you. I have compiled a free e-book with the exact steps to take: scroll down to learn more!

sharing stories
Your jewellery, your history
Here is another thought…Why not create a book with your own collection? That is not as far fetched as it may sound! Imagine what it would be like to show your friends and family the stories of your pieces without having to fumble on your phone to find those images…
And even better, what would it be like to gift your children or grandchildren your personal album? Just picture it in your mind: a book combining the stories of your pieces with your family’s history or time abroad. What would you want your children to know about their family’s history or your experiences traveling? Your jewellery shares your history: let’s make both a treasured memory for many years to come.
I will be happy to assist you with whatever you need: from providing object descriptions to ghost-writing the book for you. The best part of my work with private collections is hearing your stories and memories! My network of photographers and graphic designers will help capture your collection and your personal history. How about we start with your personal e-book first…?

what is this?
Object identification
The question I get asked the most: ‘What is this?’ I provide identifications of your jewellery, along with parallels and references. You will receive a digital file in pdf with the story of your piece: its name, its geographical provenance, its meaning, cultural significance, materials used and where possible its age. In my experience, identifying a heirloom piece brings insights on your family’s history as well: it’s always about much more than just a jewel!
