Organising

organising your collection
organising your jewellery

A question…

What happens when someone asks you about a piece of jewellery you bought years ago?

  • Do you remember where it is?
  • Can you recall its story, like the region it came from?
  • Could you quickly show someone a photo if you needed to for insurance or sale?

If your answer is “I’m not sure” or “I’d have to dig through my stuff,” you’re not alone. Many collectors find themselves overwhelmed by their collection. But the good news is: you can change that! And I’ve got everything you need laid out for you in this course.

What will I learn?

I have designed this course to be step-by-step, practical, and manageable. By the end of the course, you’ll have everything you need to stay on top of your collection. I will show you how to set up a workable system with a simple spreadsheet. Which I made for you: I included downloadable, done-for-you templates for every step of the way, and practical tips and tricks coming from my years of experience with museum and private collections. But most of all, you will love the satisfaction of seeing your collection organised and knowing you are contributing to a better world!

Your instructor

All classes are researched, prepared and taught by Sigrid van Roode. I have been presenting classes, courses, workshops and jewellery talks for over 25 years now.

I have worked on many museum and private collections, and have been professionally involved in collection management, inventory and photography – a background I’m sharing with you in this course!

But most of all: I understand that no collector is the same. That is why this course is not just a technical tutorial: I’m showing you exactly how to set up a system that works for you.

I believe jewellery is not just adornment, but an important historic source that needs to be confidently passed on the next generation – and I’m here to help!
